Volunteer Week 2024
This week is Volunteer's Week Scotland. We would like to take the opporunity to send a big THANK YOU to all our volunteers for your time and commitment to our service for the community! Volunteers are the heart and the strength of our service. Our volunteers help GNWCAB to support over 7,500 people with over 16k pieces of advice every year and secure over £2.5 million in client financial gain.
GNWCAB was set up for the local community and by the local community which very much still stands today. We are proud that around 67% of our volunteers secure employment after volunteering with us. GWNCAB first opened its doors in 1981 and since we have welcomed many volunteers with different backgrounds of skills and expertise. Finding yourself, finding purpose in retirement, gaining experience for employment, improving confidence, benefiting from regular time for challenge and altruism. Just some of the things CAB volunteers have told us they appreciate about their experience.
Variety is the spice of life! At GNWCAB, our volunteers have a choice of roles, some start with one then swap to another, some even start with one and take on a second! From welfare rights to our dedicated Board of Trustees, there is no stopping them and they are all essential.
We have supported the North West Glasgow community for over 40 years. Our staff and volunteers often have people telling them that the advice they have been given has changed their lives. Our team of dedicated Volunteers help us to deliver a lifeline service in our community. Since 1981, we have secured over £70million for our clients.
Thank you to all our Volunteers!
